In Texas Hold’em, a combination is made up of five cards, two of which the player has received and the other three coming from 5 community cards , that is, those that are dealt on the table by the dealer.

You’ve probably heard about this term, but what is a royal flush ? It is nothing more than the highest value combination in poker, featuring five consecutive cards of the same suit, from Ace to 10, as follows:  A♦ K♦ Q♦ J♦ 10♦ .

Straight flush

The combination known as a straight flush is formed by a sequence of cards of the same suit, as in J♠ 10♠ 9♠ 8♠ 7♠.

Quadra

When a four of a kind is formed, it means that the player has four cards of the same rank, one of each suit, plus a 5th, called a kicker . Example: 9♥ 9♣ 9♦ 9♠ K♥ .

Full House

Full House , on the other hand, has 3 cards of the same rank, but different suits, and a pair, as in A♥ A♣ A♦ 3♠ 3♥ . If a tie occurs, the highest 3-card straight wins the pot.

A♣ K♣ Q♦J♠ 10♠ (Ace High)
5♠ 4♦ 3♦2♠ A♥ (Five High)

Two Pair is a poker combination with two doubles of different ranks and suits, as in J♥ J♣ 5♦ 5♠ 7♥ .

A couple

This poker hand has two cards of the same rank and different suits, just like A♥ A♣ K♦ J♠ 7♥ .
